ALL OF THEM ended up in the landfill.
ALL OF THEM shedded microplastics.
Floofah was born out of the frustration that daily household tools are polluting the earth. We realized that the best scrubbers already exist in nature, made from the amazing luffa plant.
Floofahs are compostable and biodegradable, zero-waste, natural, minimally-processed plant-fiber sponges that work REALLY WELL!
Luffa plants are in the edible gourd family along with cucumbers and melons. Its unique fibrous exoskeleton has been used as natural scrubber sponges for centuries.
Natural loofah sponges are Mother Nature's best scrubbers. Not only is it 100% natural and eco-friendly, loofah fibers dry faster and are less prone to molding.
Floofah is a natural sponge-like fiber derived from the dried fruit of the amazing Luffa gourd, a vegetable native to the warm climates of east Asia.
Luffa gourd is an edible vegetable in the cucumber family and is an excellent source of vitamin C and fiber. Once the gourd matures on the vine, it is then harvested to produce natural loofah products. Floofah is made with the same natural loofah-- just softer and more user-friendly.
Floofah is a sustainable and biodegradable alternative to synthetic sponges and plastic loofahs.
Floofahs are made with vegetable fibers, which are naturally biodegradable and compostable even in home settings. We minimized the materials used to produce the Floofahs to ensure its compostability.
In fact, everything about the Floofah-- the hang tag, paper packaging, and shipping boxes/bags are all compostable!
Floofahs are made with the same natural loofah, which are fibers produced by the amazing Luffa plant.
However, after many disappointing encounters with the standard loofah sections, we took a spin on its form factor and improved upon it-- taking the best parts of the loofah, the outer shell, layering it and making it durable, soft, and easy to use.
Floofahs are durable, produce rich lathers, have superior scrubbing power, yet are soft on your hands and gentle on your dishes and skin.

Floofah is completely natural and biodegradable, unlike plastic-based sponges and loofahs that shed microplastics during use and can take hundreds of years to decompose (into more tiny microplastics).
Floofahs are also more sanitary because the loofah fibers do not hold water, making it less prone to bacteria growth and mold.
After each use, rinse Floofah thoroughly with water and hang it to dry.
To clean it more deeply, soak it in a vinegar or baking soda solution for a few minutes, then rinse and dry. You can also choose to wash it in the dishwasher or sanitize it in the microwave for 10 seconds.
Replace Floofah when it becomes too soft or starts to disintegrate (ripping or shedding), usually in 4-6 weeks depending on the frequency of use.
Using a plant-based product reduces our reliance on petrol-based plastic products and CO2 emissions associated with extracting and producing such products.
Natural products like the Floofah do not produce any microplastics during use, unlike sponges and loofahs made from plastic and recycled plastic.
Floofah is completely biodegradable and can be composted in home gardens. Composting also reduces the amount of methane that is emitted into the atmosphere; therefore we strongly recommend that you compost your Floofah when you are ready to replace it.
